I’m originally from upstate NY, but my family moved to Michigan when I was around 12, and I’ve been here ever since. My husband, Alex, misses the warmer weather (and likes to remind me of this fact frequently), so we may eventually end up more in the south sometime in the future.
In high school, I played violin seriously, but I just dabble with it now, and I sit down to the piano every once in a while to play as well.
I am currently a Registered Nurse, and I have a part-time job doing that. I used to be a paramedic which was exhilarating, however, I burned out quickly and it was very physically demanding. That led to a desire for a career change, so I went to school to become a Nurse. I’ve also worked as a pharmacy technician for a few years, so I do have bits and pieces of knowledge from different parts of the medical field. Unfortunately, especially during Covid-19, being recently pregnant, and now having a newborn, being a Nurse on the frontlines has been extremely hard, and I’ve experienced (as have many people) high levels of anxiety related to this pandemic.
With all this in mind, I’m still a new mom, and I’m constantly learning. In fact, I’ve followed other mommy-bloggers along in their journeys and have experienced nothing but inspiration, motivation, and connection doing this.
Enter, Insight Mother. This simple name represents what I love most (second to spending time with my family)–gaining insight and information on all things motherhood in order to take care of my family.
Really, I’m always listening to podcasts, audiobooks, reading articles, etc. This is a place for me to share knowledge about things such as organizing, recipes, toddler-tips, and mindfulness, as well as find comfort and connection in this overwhelming, fast-paced world.
I would love for you to join me in this journey of gaining insight together.
I love expressing myself through writing what I’m passionate about. I’ll be posting twice a week here, and I’d love if you would follow along with me!
There’s also podcast in the making, and eventually I’m will be branching into the YouTube world to supplement my posts with some video inspiration. I’m excited for what’s in store!
My goal with this website is to create and inspire. I want to ease overwhelm and provide support and encouragement through these tough and isolating times.
I’ll be sharing about topics like motherhood, no-fuss healthy recipes, baby and toddler tips, and how to live a healthy and sustainable lifestyle by treating yourself and your children with compassion and respect.
Please enjoy, grab a beverage, and stay a while. :)
